Speakers of Croydon

Hello to all

To all those who did not attend the meeting on Tuesday 17th February - well, you missed an very informative and 'rock & roll' in the mood evening! All those who were there will understand what the action was? It was Erickson's first time as Toastmaster and he was a great mover!

We had a number of guests which was wonderful and they made contributions to the impromptu speeches which covered topics as travel, winter, springtime and reading. The best speech was even won by Gladstone, a guest and his first time to this club.

We had four speeches from speech no 7 to an advanced entertaining and storytelling advanced speech. All were informative and thought provoking.
First you would have learnt from Abbi how to make money work for you through the Money Game (72 an important number). Then Andrew, our computer expert (can sort out all your computer mishaps & is seeking new employment) warned us about the programmes we used each day as we trust them to do the things they are asked. But when they are alienated their activites are for the benefits of someone else.

'In search of confidence' we are all searching it but tonight Venessa's did not come from a bottle! In a few months time many will recall this adage - 'Shut the duck up' and what to do with tapping your forehead - now if you had been present you would have have seen the speaker collasping to the floor. One minute standing up next on the floor!!!

'Two men with different views' that sounds familiar dont you think? Joan's moral of the story is that to bring happiness to another person, you are doing a good job - so your objective for this coming week is to do just that.

The next meeting is on Tuesday 3rd March (already the 3rd month) do please ALL show up. You never know what you might learn?

Deirdre
