 | | | | Feel free to contact us with any questions, suggestions or feedback. | | | | | | | 22 February 2005 | | | | Richie Dayo Johnson rocked the house as our Contest Chair and introduced the International Speech Contestants as they took the stage one by one:
Shegun Olusanya took us on an olympic journey to a higher plane.
Hanna Hunter discovered our varying forms of intelligence.
David Gordon demonstrated how 'missing your stop' can take your further.
Francoise Emery showed us how friendship can inspire us.
Nikky Ajayi revealed the power of our names.
After the break, Sudanta Abeyakoon was unveiled as our surprise speaker, delivering a powerful and passionate performance on the subject of the Tsunami disaster, and was evaluated by our five Evaluation Contestants including Hanna Hunter, Francoise Emery, Nikky Ajayi, Carol West and David Langworthy.
The standard of both contests was extremely high so congratulations go to all participants, and particularly:
Speech Contest Winners:
1st - David Gordon 2nd - Nikky Ajayi
Evaluation Contest Winners:
1st - David Langworthy 2nd - Nikky Ajayi
The two Davids go onto represent the Speakers of Croydon at the Area Contest in four weeks' time. Goliath, beware!
