We'll be having a Christmas themed event on Tuesday 4 December 2007. I'ff going to set you off into the Christmas yeasr with something for every onenk. All Meetings now take place at the Cornerstone House, 14 Willis Road, Off Union Road, Croydon.

Tuesday 20 November was a very auspicious evening at the club. The meeting was opened by our ever enthusiastic President - Peter Robinson which was followed by an equally enegising wam up session fand the club formalities.

Peter also doubled up as Toastmaster of the Day and most ably assisted by Godfrey Nurse as Timekeeper and yours truly as Grammarian and Ah Counter.

There were four prepared speeches - from Don Grant on Trading Your Future, Wendy Mota on Cake Making, Louise de Souza on the Busy Bees with an Advanced Speech from Sudanta Abeyankoo on Managing the Teen Challenge. These were followed by comprehensive evaluations from Vanessa Buck, Satyen Deepchand, Godfrey Nurse and Joan Jardine respectively and from which every one learned a thing or two.

There was an educational slot ititled Speech Organisation and Delivery in place of the usual Table Topics. Peter stepped on the plate by giving a detailed but methodical approach to his delivery speeches followwed by the circulation of handouts. Joan Jardine took the interest to another level by stressing that speeches need to come from the heart and its all down to practice practice and practice. I continued the mood by sharing how I had prepared for and delivered my #10 by using a grabbing headline, exciting the emotions and winning the heasrts of the listeners, the clever use of quotes, repitition, aliterations and props siuch as in my singing
