3 April 2007
We had our second meeting back at the Spreadeagle Public House, Katherine Street, Croydon on Tuesday 3 April 2007. As expected it was another resounding success.

Peter and Joan competently steered us through the meeting where we were treated to three first class speeches from the Communication and Leadership programme.

One of our newer members Don Grant, effortlessly guided as through his ideas on the thought-provoking subject of competition in schools and then Sudanta stepped up to the mark, presenting a role play on cold calling and trying to persuade Peter of the benefits of using his company's services on corporate packaging. Peter then provided an inspirational speech on the concept of using food as nature's own medicine cabinet.

These speeches were concisely evaluated by David, Godfrey and Sudanta.

Yours truly tested our knowledge of current affairs in the topics round and we ended the evening by discussing some 'hot tips' when it comes to public speaking. Jackie was the grammarian of the day.

Best speaker was Peter, best evaluator Godfrey and best topic speaker Joan.

Our next meeting will be at the Spreadeagle Pub on Tuesday 17 April. The next day Wednesday 18 April, we have the all important area competition back at the Fairfield Hotel. As well as our own local champions we will have a guest presentation by a 3 times world finalist so this should be well worth a visit.
