What an evening we had last Tuesday!

On the last meeting of the year we always have drinks, nibbles and carols and this year was no exception.

But before the goodies we sat back and enjoyed a special evening of speeches by some of our newer members, bravely attempting their ice breakers.

These included Cleo, Agnes and Andrew (Mclean) and then we were treated to a brief folk tale from one of our most experienced speakers, Joan Jardine.

Although everyone spoke well, Agnes blew everyone away with her stage presence, her animated gestures and her wonderful vocabulary and was voted best speaker of the evening.

The meeting was also tarred with a slight tinge of sadness as one of our most experienced and most loyal members, Satyen Deepchand said his sad farewells. He is returning to Mauritius to pursue more improved job opportunities and I am sure he will be looking forward to renewing his toastmasters members back in his homeland.

Our next meeting is one Tuesday January 6th. Sudanta is away in Sri Lanka in January so please contact Abbi Greene for programme details.
